I had a lovely stay with a huge, comfortable bed and a great buffet breakfast that kept me full all day! The classic vibe of the building was charming, even if some areas are a bit worn.

Shabby but not chic
We stayed for 4 nights in October. The hot water was crazy, like boiling! It made the shower almost useless at times. The staff was friendly, which was nice, and the restaurant was kinda alright, but I wouldn't go there for dinner. The room was bigger than most in London, but really needed a refresh.

Stayed with friends and had a blast! Perfect spot near the Royal Albert Hall for concerts and a quick ride to Oxford Street for shopping. The staff were super helpful, and the breakfast area had a charming vibe. Room service was prompt and delicious. Definitely recommend it for group getaways!
One downside was the room being a bit hot, but we managed to enjoy our trip overall.

The Thistle had me buzzing with culinary excitement! The nearby Leinster Arms served up the most delightful pub grub, while Sheila's Cafe was a total gem for brunch enthusiasts. On top of that, the room service was prompt and spot on, too—can't go wrong there!
One cheeky downside was the bathroom feeling a bit dated, but honestly, the delicious local eats and buzzy vibe made up for it all!

classic olde charm of a forgotten era
The room was cozy with a comfortable double bed. It had nice amenities like a flat-screen TV, kettle, and free toiletries. The bathroom came with a shower and good water pressure. Plus, fresh air was easy to get with an open window. Very quiet at night and the view of Kensington Gardens was lovely.

elegant charm near kensington gardens and royal attractions
We cherished our stay with easy walks to Kensington Gardens, just a few steps away, and the Royal Albert Hall, which we reached in under 20 minutes while soaking in the beautiful surroundings, making our city explorations even more enjoyable.

missingWrote a review on 21 Augrestaurant limitations
While the room's spaciousness was nice, I was disappointed to find only a double bed instead of a queen—it was a tight fit for two. The bathroom, although functional, could use some modernization. I noticed minor signs of wear that detracted from its appeal. The restaurant experience wasn’t quite up to par. my dinner took about 2 hours and still felt underwhelming, and my attempts to order cocktails were met with substantial limitations on available ingredients.

Great staff, beautiful place
We had a family weekend getaway and it was awesome! The staff were super friendly, even helped us book show tickets. Our family room was spacious, and the location was perfect, just a few mins from the tube. Breakfast was tasty, nice atmosphere, and room service for fish and chips was on point! Just wish there were more pillows.

Perfect for a brief escape
I stayed here for just a couple of nights but wow, it really made an impression. Had an amazing breakfast each morning and the staff were genuinely helpful, like they knew how to treat a king.
It wasn't exactly inexpensive, but I guess you pay for quality.

Check-in staff were friendly, and I enjoyed the fresh-baked scones during my stay. I faced significant issues with plumbing. water leaked from the ceiling during both nights, making the shower unusable. When I reported it, there was no follow-up or solution communicated, leading to an early checkout without any apology. While it may suit others, my experience was far from satisfactory.
